Anyone have any info about lung cancer diagnosis? scared rant

hi sorry i need feedback

i really have no idea i think i have all the symptoms i have to go gp… in the morning (8am phone call again)

i’m hypochondriac and also a bit paranoid this evening as well - lung cancer fears give me the straight to the psych ward kind of feeling cos i always think i have it when i go insane… first thing to happen

i have had a dull pain, that felt like a shoulder pain from muscle ache in my shoulder on and off for about 2 + years
very on and off - not related to exercise

it came back tonight and is still painful on and off 2 -3 hours later
i have a cough most of the time and recently it’s sounded phlegmy - last 3 months perhaps or less

i have had twinges elsewhere in my chest tonight

i have been very dizzy to the point of consciousness not really feeling normal one bit 3 nights ago and some residual light headedness

I’m not over tired i’ve not seen blood in sputum - the pain is not even worse if i cough or sigh or take a deep breath

i check my breasts regularly

i think it is nothing to do with a heart attack it’s been just on the left where people think their heart is

i feel a bit throaty… i have been cracking up = voice i mean a bit… i think from clearing my throat excessively for many years

fatigue - no idea if i have that - i have been falling asleep sitting up quite easily lately

have been more and more out of breath from stairs for years and also from crouching to standing almost passed out and rapid breathing from seconds scrubbing floor
but i do have blood pressure drops when i stand up

about a year or so ago i was offered a chest x - ray and turned it down due to wanting x rays all the time and just thinking it wouldn’t be worth the carcinogens

i smoked heavily from age 14 - 32 i’m 42 in a few days time

i’ve been having difficulty swallowing possibly due to fear of having difficulty swallowing but yes i have like a lump in my throat feeling as well lately

i think that is it

anyone apart from telling me go doc i will in the morning first thing to demand figuring out if it is muscular now after bending over computer typing all this it’s feeling muscular - oh well

Those sound like all the symptoms of a panic attack. You should totally go to the doctor if you’re worried, but none of that sounds like lung cancer. My dad and two grandparents had it. One of the first signs is extreme weight loss. Like, my dad looked like a skeleton.

Thank you it’s so reassuring

i’m sorry about your father

Maybe you’re like me - destined to fear terrible things will happen, but they don’t. It’s called catastrophic delusions.

I’m a believer in human tendencies, which you carry throughout your life.

Of course, with me I did get cancer, but that’s another story.

I agree with Ninjastar, it may be a kind of hypochondria.

Try not to worry about it Chrystal.

Thanks… Prospero,

It’s just going to be a big cycle of panic of a thing…

having worries still but nothing very serious

My mom passed from lung cancer. Her coughing was vicious (I don’t know how else to describe it) for years before she was even diagnosed. Absolutely wrenching coughing.
I absolutely encourage you to get checked and I certainly hope you are fine. It doesn’t hurt anyone when you get a screening because you’re being conscientious.
God bless

how long ago was that?

did you have treatment?

Yeh I had two surgical operation and afterwards I was fine.

Modern medicine is very good, most people survive it now.

But honestly, I’m no doctor, but you sound fine to me.

Maybe you should be more concerned with your mental health if this indicates a possible problem.

Talk to your doc, be well.

I used to be scared of going to the Emergency Room or Hospital.
I have gone to the Emergency Room in 2 different Major Hospitals 3 times in the last month or so.
I kind of felt safe there although I was stigmatized by some of the medical staff.
I am no longer afraid of going to the ER or Hospital (non psych)
I even wasn’t afraid when I got a CAT Scan of my heart and lungs.

I also had some paranoia this evening that everyone who has agreed to be part of my play have been saving up to call me out as a c u next tuesday and get me back from not giving them the part they wanted or dislike me or my arrogance

k sounds like a bit of paranoia. It happens sometimes. I would talk about it with your doc Chrystal.

As a c u?

It sounds like a bit of paranoia to me.
