I am in a sort of relationship with a girl who i have known for 14 years, but she moved to Australia. We are talking about living together. I always wanted to move to a warmer country so i was wondering how Australia is
I’m not from Oz, but I’ve travelled there twice. I’ve seen Perth, Melbourne and Sydney.
They are nice holiday destinations. It feels like living at the end of the world.
It’s a good place to live and a bit different from Europe or the Americas. It is hard to move too though as it’s got some tough immigration laws.
I currently live in australia (was born here and grew up here)
The weather is warmer like you said, no snow in winter in most places
Yes but i think we got that figured out. Im going to visit before June and see how it goes.
I plan to move to Europe. I born and lived here for about 25 years and lived in Europe for about 25 years. I prefer Europe, cause of the much more tolerable diversity and activities I can do there.
It’s a good place to live but it’s increasingly becoming expensive to live and if your not on the national healthcare it could be a deal breaker.
Not gonna lie all the deadly amimals that can kill you kinda scares me away from visiting Australia.
My great-grandfather migrated there from the Shetland islands in the 1930s.
Theres this weird construction that i can keep my insurance from the Netherlands. And everything i crazy expensive here
Yeah there’s a lot of reciprocal stuff for certain people but just saying…make sure the medication and healthcare is doable. It’s increasingly harder for the average Australian so moving into that market can be tough.
After probably 30 years of healthcare I’m starting to pay out of pocket to see a doctor. Not raining on your parade just saying make sure you’ve done your homework if your moving over.
No problem its good to get realistic advise apart from my love drunk brain. But i am going to take it slow with her and see what happens. I hope to visit this year and she will come here so trying to figure everything out. I havent got treatment in a long time accept for knee pain, but mental health wise everything is going good and soon my psychiatrist will take me off meds
I agree with rogueone, it’s getting really expensive with things like food and rent.
The weather is nice and not too many things that can kill me where I live .
As long as you can get on welfare for meds you’ll be ok but the ‘cost of living’ crisis makes life quite difficult.
Yes of course, everywhere is great to live when you are cashed up.
