I remember I read the book ‘scrawny to brawny’ about 10 years ago and the author recommended quinoa as a gluten free carb, easy to digest. so I went to the city looking for some. when I got to the big grocer I asked the lady for quinoa and she had a blank look on her face. I looked around the world market section and found some haha. what a difference 10 years makes, quinoa is everywhere now. I can even get some at Walmart, here locally.
I like it, I don’t eat a lot of it anymore because even the pseudo grains will increase my throat mucous. but will probably start adding some to get some good carbs in me.
I just ate some Trader Joe’s oatmeal and it has quinoa in it. It also has flax, chia, and amaranth. It’s really good with fresh banana or berries added.
