Any one on Risperidone trying to conceive

As it increases prolactin levels , does it makes it difficult to conceive.?
Please let me know as all antipsychotics increases prolactin levels.

i want kids but im on risperidone might have to come off to have kids which could be bad i cant produce semen cause of my high prolactin

Actually, all antipsychotics do not cause prolactin elevation. Out of the atypical antipsychotics, risperidone and Invega increase prolactin the most and are the worst offenders. Antipsychotics like Seroquel or Abilify, for example, cause no prolactin elevation. I’m on Seroquel and my prolactin is totally normal, but I already knew it would be.

I’m on Risperdal Consta every two weeks. But, my conceiving days are long gone, thank goodness.

You shouldn’t even be on that medication if trying to conceive. Shouldn’t be on it pregnant. If that’s what your trying to do talk to your dr. About another medication.

Not all aps increase prolactin levels.
