Any bumped off ssd in the US?

I often worry I could get bumped off ssd and be forced to struggle … I’d be so screwed . Any sz ever get bumped off ssd here in America ?

Being faced with the work field… I’d likely end up homeless honestly. I have a hard time attending school consistently at a half time schedule… maybe I’m not as high functioning as I assume at time

I don’t know. If it wasn’t for the med’s I could get work digging ditches for the highway department. The med’s totally destroy my ability to cope with the weather. In the army I was a little bit above average in dealing with the weather, but the med’s have made me a weather wimp. They make me more susceptible to heat stroke in summer and hypothermia in winter. I hate that.

I have a hard time with attendance too. :confounded:

From what I’ve read it’s nearly impossible to get kicked off ssd. It’s on social security to prove you’re no longer disabled. Unlike when you applied, when it was on you to prove you were disabled.

You’ll get kicked off if you work for 9 months of course, but if you can do that, you don’t need it anyway.

I don’t think you will ever be bumped off SSDI, I used to worry too but it’s been 18 years now and when I used to try to work and then fail I would get written reviews but I answered all the questions as poor concentration, and inability to stay at my desk longer than five minutes as the reason I couldn’t work and I never had any more trouble with the social security department. I haven’t had a review in almost ten years now. rest easy.

Ty everyone. I appreciate your inputs. I also tried the 9 month period and was regarded as unsubstantial in earnings… I get paranoid and forget the facts of the matter often with things

That’s not necessarily true. I’ve been on SSDI for 35 years and I have worked for most of that time. I just can’t work enough to support myself. i just had a review about 6 months ago. I told them I work part-time. I didn’t try to hide anything and they sent me a letter saying my SSDI will continue.

Ty for your honesty. I feel like a butt missing classes

I think I got heatstroke one summer due to meds

I think I’ve read that for most people the income limit is $1050 a month. But yeah I’m no expert

I make $1,200 a month.

That is correct for me. I’ve been through every “trial work period” they had. I had a 9 month “trial work period” and I think a 14 month “trial work period” after that. I’ve also tried going off of it completely two or three times and supporting myself but I always got back on it. Now supposedly I can stay on SSDI “forever” as long as I don’t go over that $1000 a month limit of my wages.

A lady at Social Security told me I can not go over a $1000 worth of wages in a month even once or else they would cut me off of it but I went over accidentally a couple of times already but my boss called Social Security and explained to them that I went over because of special circumstances and Social Security said that was fine. I’ve heard people, including a couple of my therapists, complain that our SSDI is not enough money and that they should raise our checks. But I think SSDI is the best deal around and I’m grateful that I get anything.

I’m very grateful too. I am considered poverty level in America but I have a roof and food and gizmos to be productive in star trek ways… I’m very grateful too

I’ve been studying and getting school grants currently at a part time level so I haven’t had a fledged income from work in a couple years… I don’t know the current limit. Back east I juggled not making more than 800 but that was also ten years ago… since then I’ve worked at school and made pennies and then more pennies at the mental health center snack bar. Yea I haven’t had a review in about 10 years now either

I get off SSD next month. I work part time and make more than the wage threshold. There’s hope.

Here in the UK you get reviewed every 3 years or less. And you can easily be denied and have to go to a tribunal.

Wondering why my son only gets $600-700 per month, and was only getting $111 for food?
He has a payee-would that have anything to do with it?

If I got bumped off ssd I would have no choice but to get off my med’s. The only work I am suited to is digging ditches. I don’t mind it when I’m off the med’s, but when I am on the med’s I can’t cope with the weather. The med’s do that to you.

is he on SSI ? that is usually reserved for people that don’t have much work history. I am on SSDI and made high wages before I got sick.
