Just found out that not complete dose of 500mcg b12 is absorbed.
For example, it’s estimated that only 10 mcg of a 500-mcg B12 supplement is actually absorbed in people without a deficiency (13Trusted Source). [1]
[1] How Much Vitamin B12 Is Too Much?
While the recommended daily amount of vitamin B-12 for adults is 2.4 micrograms, you can safely take higher doses. Your body absorbs only as much as it needs, and any excess passes through your urine. [2]
I heard that b12 works effectively when you take it with vitamin b complex. B12 is good for your tiredness, but I don’t know about the cognition or memory.
Because of B-12’s importance, you might assume taking a large dose of it would be beneficial. Taking as much as 1,000 milligrams of B-12 isn’t necessarily dangerous, but it won’t help you either since the body absorbs only a small amount. [1]
Because your body has only so much intrinsic factor, you can absorb only a certain amount of B-12 at a time. This is why the vitamin is considered safe, even at high doses. [1]
It’s unclear how much you’ll absorb from a 1,000-microgram supplement since the absorption rate decreases so much with larger doses. Depending on the amount of available intrinsic factor in your system, you might not absorb much more than 10 micrograms. [1]
So it’s not dangerous to them everyday?
I have methylcobalamin 1000mcg
I see you started a new thread about this. Will shut this zombie thread as it’s 7 months ago.
