Antipsychotics and concussions?

Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge on the effects that antipsychotics have on the brain following multiple concussions. Do they increase the risk of brain injury reoccurring? I’m asking because I’ve had 3 concussions, one in 2016, 2 in 2017. I was just wondering if there is any effects regarding AP use post brain injury.

I get concussions pretty regularly and my doctors have never brought up a connection.

I fall and hit my head regularly usually giving myself concussions and I always recover fine, I don’t think ap’s effect it or intensify it as such. My docTors haven’t raised concern either. Concussions don’t effect us the same way our meds do. Ap’s tend to be dopamine antagonists (other than ability which is partial agonist) and some other neurones I can’t remember. A concussion is a jolt to the brain and can temporarily alter brain function. It is more likely to be the cause of any brain damage than the meds you are taking. It is recommended you take your medication as usual I think. And Ap’s are important to stay on even more so if you have a head injury because that can cause cerebral agitation and anxiety so you’ll feel more unsteady. My last fall i split my head open became unconscious and bled a lot I had cerbral agitation for three days and I was hyper vigilant, anxious, paranoid and couldn’t explain why, I could barely sleep I was so agitated I couldn’t stay off my feet. My mum gave me lorazepam twice a day just so I could settle a little. This was with my AP’s so imagine how bad it would have been without?

To answer I haven’t heard of AP’s making more brain damage based on concussions.
