I’m wondering if you could start a “pet transport business” for wealthy people who are strongly attached to their pets. I don’t know if any airlines allow pets to be transported on their planes, but you could probably figure out a way to transport pets over long distances. It might could be lucrative if you catered to a wealthy clientel. This is just an idle thought.
I always thought airlines took pets on airplanes as long as they are in crates or cages.
Maybe I just saw it in a cartoon or an old movie.

That very well could be true, but I imagine there are rigid restrictions on it. I bet the airlines charge quite a bit for transporting pets, because there a lot of things that need to be taken care of when a pet is carried on a plane. The welfare of the animal has to be considered. The animal will need to defecate. The animal might get spooked on the plane, and start acting up. People on airlines often have a lot of baggage with them, and carrying pets in a cage could be inconvenient. Also, it gets very cold down in the hold of an airliner. I’m wondering if someone has already tried this idea, because dog shows have entries from across the nation, or the world. Even so, I bet a person could find a niche in this market.
