These results indicate that clozapine-induced reduction of L-Car reabsorption via inhibition/down-regulation of renal OCTN2 contributes to liver lipid metabolic disorder. L-Car supplementation is probably an effective strategy to attenuate clozapine-induced abnormal lipid metabolism.
