Ambien making me even more awake, even euphoric and creative?

So I went to sleep dead tired at 11pm, then woke up at 1:30am, then took 5mg of Ambien (Zolpidem) at 3am, then just got euphoric and had happy creative thoughts until now, its 6:25am and I am dressed and making coffee. What the ■■■■?! Someone explain why the sleeping pill did anything but make me sleep.

And I have noticed that every time I eat a ton of cottage cheese before going to bed (a bodybuilding thing, it’s a casein protein), I wake up in the middle of the night.

I could really use some advice. I need to sleep at least 7 hours a night to stay sane, no kidding at all, if consecutive nights of less than 7-9 hours of sleep add up, I get really unwell very quickly.

I am fine for just one night of this, I will sleep well tonight and then for sure take 10mg of ambien Wednesday night before the GRE on Thursday. I’m on spring break, if that explains anything, like why I have been at museums and hanging out with one of my old friends who is also on spring break.

This happens to me sometimes, especially recently when I increased the dosage of invega which is supposed to be sedating I started to find it difficult to sleep, which, to me is an early sign of something going wrong. After the increase in invega by the way I don’t dream anymore which is a big relief as it made me really anxious for sometime. Talk to your doc or I don’t know how but force yourself to sleep.

Yeah, I’m gonna call my psychiatrist tomorrow and tell him what happened. It was simply not okay. Like way across the border of what is not okay
