I probably will too

I am going to remain single for the rest of my life because I know there is only one of me.

Have you looked at the statistics? Also, with the effect of trauma on your chance of developing sz, and how common it is, you are probably very unlikely to pass on sz unless you marry a sz or bipolar, or traumatize your kid in some way. I wish people would stop guilt tripping others into not having kids on this forum. It’s beyond disrespectful.

I have boyfriend problem. There is a guy i.like and he rejects me…im very very angry at him for rejecting me…but i keep my anger in and run after him.

I think you’ll be fine. You’re able to attend school and look good.

I’ve always had a checklist, and never have been able to keep the first few boxes checked long enough to cross out the box that allows me to pursue a girl. Basically I can’t support a relationship, let alone a family so those things are out of my reach.

Look and Donald Trump and his first wife Ivana. They had a beautiful girl name Ivanka. Trump continues to have a 3rd beautiful wife named Melania. Wayne Gretzky and Janet Gretzky is another couple who have 4 kids together.

Beautiful women are called gold diggers, ever heard of that one? This is why beautiful women are attracted to wealthy men because rich men can afford everything.

Why would a beautiful woman clean for him when he can afford a maid?

Women are attracted to successful, famous and wealthy men. Principles don’t count and neither do morals. The only reason you state “honour” is because you have no money.

I question those statistics and you should too. It makes more sense that if it takes 2 to make a baby, most likely half of your genes is going to your kid. I just want to be realistic and true to the facts.

That’s naïve. That’s not how most hereditary things work. There’s dominant and recessive genes, there’s ncDNA, there’s epigenetics, and there’s the uterus environment, birth complications and infections during pregnancy affecting the genes and their expression. But either way, even if you want to believe that genes work that way, it’s disrespectful to suggest people who have children or want to have children are immoral because they might pass on their illness. Would you say that to someone who has a genetic predisposition for diabetes or cancer? No. But for some reason, you think it’s OK to say that to people with a genetic predisposition for mental illness. If only perfect people were allowed to have children, the human race would die out very quickly.

@anon9798425 From my perspective, 4(grandparents)-2(parents)-1 (child) is how genes are passed down from generation to generation. People with mental illness can have children if they want but they have to know the consequence of passing on the disease. Cancer & diabetes can be reversed or treated and also people with mental illnesses using anti-psychotics. All types of people from different social classes to different racial groups have children. The human population is still continuing to increase. People with mental illness represent a small percentage of the overall population.

Yes, but that doesn’t mean the statistic are wrong. It just means you don’t understand why they are so low.

Schizophrenia can be avoided, treated, and in some cases reversed. Your argument is invalid.

People with diabetes use insulin or other medications. They have a shortened life-expectancy and reduced quality of life. People with cancer risk serious, permanent damage to their body and brain from the treatment they undergo to get better.

We cannot blindly accept what is printed on paper. There are some instances where the supposed facts must be questioned and verified with other statistical data from other studies.

It’s a fact that schizophrenia can be avoided. My father’s family is an example. Not all my uncles and or aunts have the disease but some do.

Yes, nuclear radiation therapy must be used to eliminate cancerous cells but at a cost of being exposed to radiation.

These are not just words printed on paper. They are scientific observations. Trusting them sure beats rejecting them just because they don’t fint with your preconceptions, which is what you’re doing here. It’s so disappointing to talk to people who believe science is fraudulent unless it supports their view. This has been measured many times, by many different teams of scientists, in many different ways.

@anon9798425 If scientific observations can be verified with other studies than yes, I would accept them. One study of statistical data cannot be relied upon unless other studies come out with the same conclusion. It has been known that one set of data can be used to misinform if not verified. I just want to take a cautious approach to this.

Many family studies of schizophrenia were conducted since then, with the available evidence showing that the child of a parent with schizophrenia has an elevated empirical risk about tenfold over the general population risk (for a review, see 40).”

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20194825
“The risk of schizophrenia in 270 offspring of 196 parent couples who were both admitted to a psychiatric facility with a diagnosis of schizophrenia was 27.3% (increasing to 39.2% when schizophrenia-related disorders were included) compared with 7.0% in 13 878 offspring from 8006 couples with only 1 parent ever admitted for schizophrenia and 0.86% in 2 239 551 offspring of 1 080 030 couples with neither parent ever admitted.”

I’m sure there’s more, too. But I have to get ready for school now.

Idk man. I think I will. My issues are there are no opportunities to socialize in this ■■■■ hole one horse town, and I don’t have a job. 75% of women said they wouldn’t date a guy without a job when polled.

When my physical health is better I’ll still have to go through so much bull ■■■■ just to get an entry level job if I can even do that in the first place. The high schools have been making the students do volunteer work. So I’ll be competing against others who are younger and have some references and experience. So I have to do volunteer work just for a chance at a damned mininum wage job.

Sometimes you’re better off not reading those statistics and just get out there and do the things you enjoy, eventually you may discover someone who likes the same things as you.
That’s how relationships start, first with something in common, then hopefully you find you are compatable enough to enjoy each others company.

@anon35453467 I consider your post about "wealthy man and beautiful women " very sexist.
You claim that the most valuable trait of a woman is beauty.
I think that the most valuable traits are intelligence, and possibly a successful career(and possibly wealth,as well and character).
As for rich men- well wealth is significant to a certain degree, but there are other factors other than wealth.
Like intelligence and a career and even fitness and character.

@anon35453467 I am sorry, but no, wealthy men don’t deserve beautiful women.
Your writing is incredibly stereotypical and prejudiced.

@anon9798425 I believe that not in all cases schizophrenia can be avoided.
In some cases yes, and in some cases no.
In any case currently there is no foolproof method to avoid schizophrenia with 100 percent certainty.
You may just try to lower the risk.

But, I should say, I fully support the capacity of people to have children, including if there is heightened
risk of illnesses such as schizophrenia for the children.
I just want to say that if people want to be parents, they’d better be high functioning
so as to be able to care for their children.
