I know its bad for me and i know I’m an addict but i still drink anyway. I still sometimes smoke weed even though it makes symptoms worse. I still keep a jar with acid in it even though thats the reason im the way i am today. I don’t think I’m a bad person but ive lost the concept of what really makes a person good or bad
There is no ethical problem with using drugs and alcohol.
maybe just foolish. I like sobriety more and more. although I still have my drink once a week or so
Not at all. But I had to quit weed because it made things worse. Weed slows me down and triggers paranoia now. Before, it wasn’t like that.
I don’t think it makes you a bad person. Maybe you just have some maturing to do, to make better choices.
Your not a bad person your just having a tough time make decisions. I’m a addict and 6 months sober with still trying to figure out what makes a good person
I don’t think so. Everyone has their flaws.
Depends on how you think of good and bad. If you define it then it might help.
If you think of something as good for you because it will be beneficial now, in the future, and to the people around you, then you can at least know if something you are doing might be good or not.
If you think of something as bad because it causes pain and suffering now, in the future, and to the people around you, then you would have an idea what to avoid.
Those are just the definitions I like (in truth they aren’t my idea). Good and bad can mean different things to different people imo.
Your not a bad person, just young and a bit naive.
Drugs are bad for you.
It’s as simple as that.
I’m inclined to think that a person who intentionally deprives others the chance to be happy, health and safe from harm, is a bad person.
A good person would be dilligent in keeping others safe from (intentional) harm.
Substances don’t ‘make’ you a bad person for using them anymore than by not using them automatically makes you a good person.
Your behavior as the results of using the substance will determine whether or not your a “good person”, or bad.
Use responsibly and harm not others nor their property, not a problem.
Act like a butthole to all around you-problem.

@KingKazuma - No, ‘using’ doesn’t make you a ‘bad’ person. Using does, however, lead to ‘bad’ stuff. Does your doctor know about this?
How does suffering from an addiction make someone bad?
Hmm, I re-read my post and it sounded a bit harsh. I struggle with alcohol, so I have some small idea what you might be going through. I wasn’t trying to judge.
I am not your judge.
I have no way of knowing how you got to this point in the present. If it makes you feel bad about yourself, hurt yourself or others then…I think self-destructive.
Again, I have no knowledge of how this came on you.
Struggling with addiction does not make you a bad person. One of the biggest obstacles to recovering from addiction is not believing you are worth saving. You are a worthy human being. Your life matters. If you start believing that, it might become easier to avoid substances.
I dont think you were harsh, just forward and relating your own thoughts.
I wrote what I did because of things in my own past. I did not feel judged properly or fairly. Those who judged me did so heavily, and with little consideration of circumstance.
Using doesn’t necessarily mean you’re a bad person. I’ve known many loving, kind, and intelligent people who chose to drink and/or use drugs. It’s probably not a great idea for you when you’re having symptoms, but that’s your decision. But as far as an automatic “you are bad” thing, I think that using isn’t a moral issue on it’s own.
No you are not a bad person. I think we all have that sort of issue with something. You just have hooked on to substances that are among the most dangerous and taboo to society.
You’re not bad but the substances are bad.
What is the purpose of acid.
