After years of slowly gaining weight,

over ten years, going from 148 to 168 lbs. in a steady curve upward, I am finally doing something drastic and taking matters into my own hands. I have eliminated sweets from my diet and I am eating a LOT more fruits and vegetables, and drinking a lot more water. And I rarely get sweet cravings anymore because I eat so little sugar.

And also, I am not following Dr. Atkins ketogenic diet, however I am following his advice concerning dieting while on psychotropic medications and its working, just like it did for me 25 years ago. I’ve already lost 6 lbs. in five days. I’m losing weight every day now. The trajectory is finally down now, instead of up.

Well let me know if you need an exercise buddy to match you for walks or time spent active @SkinnyMe. I will try and join you in this if you want to get moving. I need to keep moving myself.

Five pounds in 6 days is a lot.

How are you doing it more specifically?

I exercise an hour daily for the last one year, eat 1500 calories in a day, and yet haven’t been able to put off much weight.

Perhaps, my TSH levels have been elevated, and they are contributing to it.

That’s really not that much …

That is dangerous and unhealthy.

Oftentimes in the 1st 2 weeks people drop a lot of weight and then it slows down. It may be ok for now

Great @shutterbug! I’ll sure join you! I don’t paddleboard, unfortunately, but I do yoga 4 to 5 nights a week, and dance alone in my apartment sometimes for fun. I’ll be your exercise buddy though.

I only want to lose 5 more pounds.

That’s doable for sure. And it realistic too. I want to lose another 63 lbs (28.576 kg). It’s really hard on my current med combo but it is coming off. I’ve lost 47 lbs (21.319 kg) so far.

Any activity is good activity. I am not going to keep score of what others do, just try and match minutes of movement by myself.

Dr. Atkins, of the book, Dr. Atkins Diet Revolution, states that 1500 calories is too many calories for people taking psychotropic medications. And in my personal experience, he’s right.

That’s 20 lbs. In my book, thats a lot.

I walked about 60 minutes I think. I’m going to do about 20 minutes of VR exercise before bed.
