I went to see the new pdoc yesterday. He’s located at a teaching hospital, so I know I’m receiving top-notch care. The appointment lasted 90 minutes. We went over the usual stuff, but he had me do some exercises to check my memory. He also did a test to check for Tardive Dyskinesia, which I am happy to report came back negative.
My new diagnosis is Schizoaffective Disorder, bipolar type. Got orders for a lot of blood work, including a Lithium level. Still taking the Stelazine. Low dose Seroquel for sleep. I am doing well.
In case anyone was wondering, I left this forum for about 3 weeks because I needed a break from the anti-psychiatry buzz that’s been going around. Maybe the Lithium will chill me out.
There is a team of neurologists and a psychiatrist working on the Preserve Greg Project. But we’ve got it sorted out. Head trauma, MS, Epilepsy, now SZA instead of PSZ. Bottom line is I am improving. MS is under control, so is epilepsy (no seizures since July), can’t do much for head trauma, and now a new psych diagnosis. Not really a big deal.
Yes, @bridgecomet, we did recently move - about 3 months ago. We moved from sunny Arizona to freezing cold, desolate central Illinois. Things are starting to look up, however. Thanks for caring.
No moose where I live now. Used to chase them down back roads with my school bus before I moved. You can watch my neighbour two doors down, however. She has a nice rack too.
