I need advice on finding a great doc that will work with mom to develop med management strategy.

Here are some strategies:

  1. Join a local NAMI group, attend meetings, and ask other families about the doctors that they would recommend from their experiences.

  2. Post a message here in this forum and ask about doctors (if you are in a large city - otherwise the chances of finding a doctor in your area and a person here in your city is low)

  3. Try the doctors affiliated with a medical university - here is a list, for example:

Generally the doctors who also work/teach in a university medical school are much more up on the latest research and treatments in psychiatry.
