Adjunctive Aspirin vs Placebo in Patients With Schizophrenia: Results of Two Randomized Controlled Trials

Really, Aspirin for sz? I wish it was that easy to treat sz. I would have stopped my meds asap.

Did you read it Aziz?

“Our studies and meta-analysis failed to find a statistically significant improvement in the symptoms of schizophrenia from adjunctive aspirin therapy in comparison to placebo in schizophrenia.”

So no better than a placebo…

I don’t care what it says - in Denmark you can buy over the counter medicine called “kodimagnyl” and it’s a combination of aspirin and codeine and it works very good for my symptoms. I Love it, i take 4 tablets a day.

Please be careful with opioids…

How long have you been taking it? how do you feel when you don’t take it?

Its a very little dose of codeine, that’s why its sold over the counter, i can easily go without taking them and not having abstinence.

Although it seemed unlikely to help, it’s good they checked it out. Aspirin is an anti-inflamatory and it’s good for many things. Not schizophrenia though. It’s not “bad,” it just doesn’t really make a difference.
