Lead author Dr. Matthew Nour (UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology) said: "These findings raise the tantalizing possibility that subtle impairments in memory replay might result in alterations in memory consolidation and belief formation, and thus explain previously mysterious aspects of schizophrenia.

They don’t give any opinions on how this might be treatable, but I wonder if cognitive remediation can strengthen memory consolidation.
