A question for people with anxiety

Do some of the most quick and simple tasks feel like a challenge or burden to you? Brushing my teeth, taking out the garbage, ect all make me feel anxious.

I think I need a Prozac increase.

I have anxiety about someone coming to fix our garage door opener hopefully today. I want him to be able to fix it and fix it soon.

Some days I’m good with doing those, some days they feel like a huge task. Especially if it involves leaving the house. Just gotta press through a little. Feels good to accomplish chores/hygiene habits

Yeah. I know what you mean. I have a hard time with anxiety but it’s not little things that set me off. The weather is my biggest concern. I don’t like to do little things though. I’m just so unmotivated.

@TheCanuk

Yes, i rarely have much motivation and i get anxious about doing little tasks like shower or tidying

Its negative of schizophrenia to be like this too

I think it would be worth telling your pdoc so they can decide if your meds need adjusted

I haven’t seen a pdoc in years. I go to my GP for my meds.

Edit: Going to ask for another Prozac increase.

I get anxiety for no reason at all. Sometimes I panic about things but for the most part it’s random.

Are you on 40mg?

Good idea i suppose

I just haven’t found anything to cure the anxiety and lack of motivation, ad’s dont agree with me because of my suicidal thoughts

But i wish you luck!

Yes i’m on 40 mg every morning. Prozac goes up to 80 mg a day. Maybe 60 will be the sweet spot for me.

Thank you for your kind words!

Yes 60mg might be better

My anxiety is money and PTSD related. Having enough money and getting reprieve from PTSD help me have comfortable days. Today is decent. I remember when I was approved for disability 9 years ago: my anxiety improved. I got off Xanax 3 years ago. It was making my anxiety worse from rebound in between doses. Money is the biggest problem though. I hope I win Powerball!

I take a benzo (Ativan) im trying my best not to take it but sometimes I give in and feel guilty about it. I really do feel better taking it.

I understand completely. Xanax helped me a ton. There’s no need to feel guilty about anything. In my case, I was having worse anxiety between doses, so I stopped. I am much better now, 3 years later, being off it.

@non-average - What meds are you on now? If don’t mind me asking.

I take 1mg Risperdal and 300mg Trileptal for Bipolar. I also take thyroid meds every morning. My drugs are very low dose, I know. It’s possible that Risperdal helps with anxiety a little. I would take Paxil because I took it 30 years ago and it helped me feel better, but it has a risk of causing psychosis, so I definitely need to steer clear of it.

Oh wow that is a low dose. I’m on 20 mg Olanzapine, 40 mg Prozac and 1 mg Ativan (I don’t take Ativan daily)

Gotcha. I was on Zyprexa in the hospital. I gained 40 pounds in 2 months on it. I am back on Risperdal, and I have lost 15 pounds, but I am still 70 pounds overweight. I was not fat at all when I had my first episode and got on AP’s.

Yeah, sleep is a big one for me too. My whole day depends on sleep the night before.
