A Poll Was Done In My Canadian City

88% of respondents felt that home ownership was out of their reach. Something terribly wrong going on here. I think many homes will have to be paid off over generations in the future.

Its going to be multi family gen type stuff as the common thing. Rent is pretty silly in price too.

Yeah. And if you want to move out of Mom and Dad’s place, you have to live with 5 other roommates to split the cost.

I mean, In Australia and Canada there is a huge amount of space, Why don’t they built new properties at a faster rate?

Complex economics probably

Lots of people are mortgaged on high priced propertys

Building more will cause price collapse

Mortgaged properties will lose resale value and loss for banking

In the Belgian constitution it says that everyone is allowed to proper housing.

The reality is different.

I had a home when I was 30. I was stupid and sold it.

I’ll never own a home…but i wouldn’t want to, anyhow, I’m no good at fixing things. I’ll be a renter until i die, and I’m barely able to afford rent WITH housing assistance. The cost of living is ridiculous nowadays…
