A poll in relation to another topic

In another topic a quote stated this:

“In the schizophrenia spectrum disorders, the minimal self and the self-world structure are “constantly challenged , unstable , and oscillating ,” causing anomalous self-experiences known as self-disorders. These involve the person feeling as if they lack an identity, as if they are not really existing"

My question is, do you feel you lack identity as if you don’t exist? Or is this assertion that all in the schizophrenic spectrum have this symptom false?

Do you feel as if you lack identity and don’t exist?
  • Yes
  • No
  • Not now, but I have in the past

lol, sorry man, didnt want to throw off the results with everyone voting bacon.

I took me many years to truly grasp that I’m just a man who has sz, and not a schizophrenic man.

Does that make sense kiddos?

I have a strong sense of who I am. My interests, my opinions, my values, etc.

I voted and then unvoted because I’ve been known to dissociate, but I don’t think that’s what the question is asking.

My lack of identity is social in nature. To have an identity means something for others to consume. It’s an outward representation.

Many people who like the Tik Tok or Insta, they have identity that they have constructed based on the world around them

When I look at the world around me, I just really don’t want to take part in this crazy nonsense

I feel I am in an automated system , I do the things around me with out the feeling of self.
I had stopped many things which I used to do for self.
Like studies and meditation (prayer) I am now just going with flow.

Like traveling long distances I am not in presence of mind, but just automated.

Hopefully this experience is what meant by loss of identity.
