As many of us were I was diagnosed with sz in my early 20s. I’'m now in my early 60s so I have a lot of experience with this disorder. I just wanted to share with all of you how to speed up the recovery process. I don’t know if we ever completely recover but we can get back to work or go back to school or volunteer or at least find a purpose in life that makes us happy. Anywas, makes our life worth while and content. ,I think first if one can find something you have a passion for. Pursue that and make a job of it and find a way to get paid doing it. So that you can make a living. I found that I had a passion for helping other people that had this thing we call mental illness so that’s what I do. I don’t get paid a lot but I find it extremely satisfying. You may have a passion for art or msic well pursue it and pursue it hard with a passion. Another factor is to not look to others to solve all your problems. We can solve our problems. Sure we need psychiatrists to help us out sometimes for example but they work for us and they should remember that. Self determination is an important concept when it comes to recovery from sz. Welll tht’s enough for today. Go get um guys! You rock!
Passions are so meaningful in life. I plan to follow my passion next week when I start volunteering. Thankyou for your post it’s quite inspirational.
Right on Butterfly! Fly like an eagle into your volunteering! What kind of volunteer work do you want to do? If you don’t mind me asking.
talking about eating habits with service users.
Thanks
That sounds like an excellent idea!
How often do you volunteer per week. I plan to do mine once per week
My passion is video games! I want to be an expert in them , but don’t know how to fix my routine enough rest and enough play, also I do sports and work full time but not the job I want…
You now there are actually colleges out there with video games as a major. I’m sure you could find one on the web.
Once per week is plenty!
