A child's bargain

We homeschool our twins. We pack them lunches because their little sisters are at school and not home so they want packed lunches too. In their lunches today, they had some trail mix that contains rye chips, along with other things. One loves rye chips, the other… doesn’t.

To fix the situation, they devised a trading system. One where, the one that loves rye chips gives one rye chip to the one that doesn’t. So then, the one that doesn’t like them, gives two rye chips in return. They continue this until the one that loves them has them all and the one that doesn’t has none.

I had to ask them about it to make sure I got it right. I asked them how they feel about it and they both extatically love the system. I said, “Well, so long as you are both happy with it, I’m good.”

It was weird.

Kids are great like that. I have 4 little nieces and they can be quite funny with the things they come up with.
