A 29 cent hamburger at Carl’s Jr

Cost 13 bucks now. I swear, when I was a kid in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s we used to get the same size hamburger at Jack-in-the-Box for 29 cents.
And it tasted better.

We used to do 69 cent cheeseburgers at mcdonalds with my fam on sundays.
10 cheeseburgers for 6.90 to feed a whole family :family:

Yum.

$13 sounds expensive for fast food @77nick77.

We used to have a couple of Hardee’s restaurants here. Same thing as Carls Jr but in the south. They all went out of business. One of the stores is still vacant and ones a crab restaurant now. The Fiery Crab. There are a few of those around here. Not sure if it’s a chain.

I’m so old I bought Marlboros for .75!

It was $12.42. Around here, Wendy’s charges $10 or $11 for a hamburger.

Fast food is evil

It is.

I also prefer a pentagram burned unto my burger.

Me too. There was a party store when I was a kid in the 80s that sold penny candy.

I had someone give me a birthday card one time where it tells you the price of different things on your birthday. I was surprised and I’m only 32.

I went to Burgersmith today. I had a chili dog but they had filet and brisket half pound burgers for less than that. I had a quarter pound chili cheese dog. I think it was 7.99

I’m too young to remember any crazy low prices. I was born in 1995.

In 1995 I was renting a room in a house for $320 a month. Last time I was looking for housing about four years ago, nice, average size rooms in houses ran about $1100 a month.

When I was growing up a McDonalds Cheeseburger was $.99.

BUT,

On Wednesdays, they were $.49.

Wednesdays were the best because my best friend and I would get like thirty burgers.

Cruise around town, throw them at people, throw them in friend’s yards.

Leave them in odd places.

And of course, eat as many as we could.

Good times when food was affordable.
