I missed some work last week and my boss told me to get a note from my doctor explaining why I missed that day. I called my doctor a couple of times but I coldn’t get through to her because I kept getting the runaround from the receptionist telling me that the doctor was busy and I couldn’t talk to her and that I couldn’t get the note. This particular receptionist doesn’t like me anyways so I finally just said, “Look you’e only a receptionist I want to talk to a doctor.” There was silence and then she transferred me to the doctor.

Good work! I have to deal with a lot of uppity medical receptionists at work. They need to be reminded of their position every now and then.

YEah stick up for yourself my friend. That receptionist will continue to give you problems but have a chat to your doctor and explain why you needed to contact her directly and how you were given the run around!
