I’m in the sharp impatient hospital and not only battling demons unclean spirits and devil’s 10 on a
1-10 severity, I’m also battling insomnia 4 days in a row no sleep well day 2 of the insomnia 2 hours sleep. Trazodone melatonin attarax for anxiety zyprexa prn for hallucinations not doing anything. Luckily I saw your post @47average
I know what it is like to get no sleep. Last night I took trazodone, melatonin and zyprexa too. Got very little sleep. I also took some Doxylamine.
I’m also on Latuda but I know it doesn’t cause my insomnia because I had this insomnia problem before I was on Latuda.
It’s hard to deal with all those problems, never mind with a lack a of sleep. I hope you get some sleep soon. Ask them about a “Hypnotic” like Lunesta or Ambien or “Benzo” like lorazepam for sleep if it gets really bad.
@Headspark thanks man!
Just got prescribed ambien 5mg
Cool, enjoy your zzz’s, I find Ambien 5mg puts me to sleep for about 4-5 hours. If it doesn’t work there is also 10mg but it’s better to start with 5mg and go from there. There is also Ambien CR which is an extended release tablet, it will keep you sleeping longer, although I haven’t tried the CR version of Ambien.
I have problem too tired in morning and fall asleep only when tired, no sleep meds.
Did the Ambien work?
@Headspark yeah! The first day lol then it stopped working and I haven’t slept at all like just those four and a half hours day five now I’m on day eight. I think now I’m blaming it on stopping medication Rexulti abruptly…lol I’m even on ten mg ahh almost out of here though. Probably just not comfortable here in the hospital may the force be with you
Can’t believe I haven’t lost it yet
Just got prescribed lunesta also blessings @Headspark
I’m on latuda.
I take imovane or zoplicone to help me sleep when needed.
I hope it works for you!
Lunesta and Zopliclone are similar, but Zopiclone is banned in the US. I remember reading they are the same molecule but oriented in space differently, kind of like your left and and right hands are the same but oriented differently…
Man I’ve been out 2 days and I haven’t even been able to sleep at all at home too! This is 11 out of 12 days… I have an appointment Tuesday. Uh when I walk it feels like my head is on the ocean and body is out of balance I don’t really want ativan ambien hasn’t worked since the first day and last night I drank half a bottle of nyquil they say go to er after four weeks of no sleep is there any other sleeping pill to ask my pdoc Tuesday lol @Headspark
I think the vraylar is activating it’s been six days idk
Is there a way 5 mg ambien would work and 10 wouldn’t? The first time I took 5 with success then went to 10 and it hasn’t worked maybe don’t even take it anymore or cut the pill in half? Cheerio thank you forum
With all sleep aids tolerance is a problem so I switch it up. Most nights I take an antihistamine, some nights they work better than others. 2 days ago I took 75mg of Benadryl before bed, then woke up after 5 hours and took another 50mg. Slept okay overall and felt good the following day. However I build tolerance to Benadryl after a few days so I gotta switch it up.
I built tolerance to Ambien within a few days. 5mg, then 10mg then it wouldn’t work. I stopped using it for 2 weeks, then 5mg worked again.
Last night I took 25mg Doxylamine (Unisom) and 5mg melatonin and barely slept at all, not feeling the greatest today.
It’s okay to take Ativan on occasion, like once a week to get a good sleep. Just don’t take benzos or z-drugs (Ambien, Lunesta, etc…) every day because they come with dependency issues when used long term every day, and you may build tolerance and they stop working.
Insomnia is the worse. But you are not alone. There are literately hundreds of thousands of insomniacs on the internet.
Apparently your body will sleep when it has too. Something called microsleeps, where parts of your brain shutdown for a split second. I know you would prefer a solid 7 or 8 hours but I have never read anyone that died from lack of sleep…although I know you feel like sh*t, I’ve been there and will probably be there again.
There is a brand new drug my doctor told me about called Dayvigo, but it is probably expensive because it is new. It works differently that Ambien or Lunesta. I haven’t tried it.
thanks @Headspark man the part about the insomniacs and your body will shut down when it has to, and microsleeps thanks so much, I feel hopeful and less afraid now lol. i was wondering if you know a good dosage of the Ativan? lol. thanks again brother
No problem, you’re welcome. When I first started experiencing brutal insomnia I paniced and thought I would die, you eventually get use to it. Have good days and bad. Just gotta experiment with sleep aids to find what works for you.
1 to 2mg works for me. In my experience Ativan takes about an hour or so to kick in.
I start with 1mg, and if I don’t fall asleep within 1.5 hours I take another 1mg. That always knocks me out.
You may want to start low, 0.5mg and go from there, I find half a mg isn’t enough for me but it may work with you.
