30 day November MFP/Exercise Challenge

Day 1: My goal this month is to use the food scale more often and try to get at least 30 minutes of exercise a day. I pared it down from loftier goals of last month. This morning I did measure out my sugar and half n half for my coffee. I’m pretty sure I was putting into MFP x amt of calories when it was actually 2x calories or even 3x. I wonder what else I’m underestimating? I am worried that this will develop into some sort of eating disorder with all this tracking… I’m pretty sure my bf thinks its odd and gets a little worried at times when I get a little obsessive about inputting the numbers into MFP.

I’m just trying to stick to 2000 calories max a day this month. C’mon November!

I consume about 100 grams of protein, as little sugar and carbohydrates as possible, and about 10 grams of fiber per day. Also, drink plenty of water.

I hope this helps.

I need more fiber in my diet. I just read an article that said we should be getting something like 28g of fiber on a 2000 calorie a day/ 14g per every 1000c.

The DRI (Dietary Reference Intake) is 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight, or 0.36 grams per pound. This amounts to: 56 grams per day for the average sedentary man.

I’m just concentrating on calories and nothing else. I realise this isn’t ideal, but when I’ve lost enough weight, then I can get fancy with carbs / protein / etc.

I’m losing a bit of my focus on diet. Maybe I have to concentrate more if I want to lose weight. It’s all about counting calories and it’s pretty easy to do. I just need to have focus.

I do keep an eye on the carbs, proteins, sugars, fats, Na throughout the day and try to meet the goals set by MFP. But I don’t get too caught up in the numbers. Mostly trying to eat more protein and more fiber because I’m not close on those usually.

I’m trying to meet exercise requirements, rather than calorie requirements. I suck at counting calories. one of my exercise requirements involves doing at least 400 pushups this month. it’s weak, considering that some army men can do that in 4 days…

also, I walk outside for 30 minutes every weekday; which is unnecessarily hard because of my paranoid sz.

This is my problem, I become obsessed with weight when I’m calorie counting, but if I’m not I’m just gaining weight. I decided to just eat less, and not snack so much, drink lots of water and snack fruit. I can’t calorie count, I become obsessed with going on the scale.

Day 2: Missed yoga however made it to the 40 minute body sculpting class yesterday afternoon. Then walked 1.25 miles for exercise in addition to the 3 miles I walked during my daily activities. Got in about 8000 steps yesterday. Didn’t eat so well yesterday - had fast food for lunch, then some sweets, and kielbasa and mac n cheese for dinner. Lots of fats. Although I met my calorie goal, I was nowhere near the protein, carb or fiber macros. Am getting plenty of water though.

If you guys can stick to 2000 calories during thanksgiving then you have much more self control than me and are praise worthy! Good luck!

I’m giving myself that one day to splurge and eat as much as I want. I’m still going to measure everything and keep track of it. I’m planning on run/walking the local Turkey Trot 5K if all goes well. So that should make up for the extra calories.

Day 7: weighed in today, gained a bit back. But my stomach is all out of whack due to new meds. Made it to the gym 2x last week but then didn’t really do anything the rest of the week due to fatigue and stomach issues. Hoping to get to the gym today for a ripstix Pound class. It looks pretty fun.

Well I was supposed to weigh in yesterday, but given all the weirdness I’ve been going through with my weight I thought it would be better to save myself the pain!
