This is really awful. I don’t even know what to say. :frowning:

It’s an outrage. I don’t understand why this isn’t on the news here where i am, so i googled Life Esidimeni transfers caused at 'least 118 deaths and under videos, i got three, only three hits, only one YouTube hit, and under articles, not one Major American news outlet did a cover on this. Why do i get to hear about every dumb tweet a politician makes, or every celebrity divorce for weeks on end, and opinion after opinion after opinion about other “Marginalized” groups. But the only time you hear about Mental Health subjects is when they make us all look dangerous when they do a story like “the assailant had a history of mental health issues”. Like all mental illness is the same, depression, anxiety, bulimia, all lumped in psychosis when they say mental illness. Or a mean, inappropriate tweet that caused trauma over a story like this. every time there is a terror attack, we hear about it. Every time there is a missile strike we hear about it. Why then don’t we hear about 118 souls who were wards of the hospital, and happened to be Mentally ill. I hate those people lost their lives like that, but the second tragedy is a story about Russian hackers has been going on for a year every single day all over, but its so much more important these souls. Thanks @anon20318121 for letting us know.

I think South Africa is already known for poor mental health care so this is not so surprising to me. But yeah I agree, it’s ridiculous this doesn’t make the national news or something.

It’s terrible that so many lost their lives through starvation and dehydration.

(Most normal)People really don’t care.
