What is your favourite painting?

Casper Friedrich’s Woman on stair. It reminds me of a poignant line verse in Not for that City by Charlotte Mew which goes:

…And if for anything we greatly long,

It is for some remote and quiet stair
Which winds to silence and a space for sleep
Too sound for waking a for dreams too deep

Definitely Triptych, May-June 1973 by Francis Bacon. At first the painting looks pretty weird and distorted, even scary to an extent, but the meaning behind it is filled with sadness, made me tear up when I read the meaning behind it.

Geez, everybody is so cultured here. I know nothing about artists or paintings in general. But I do have a favourite photograph. It’s a colour photograph from 1920, called ‘Bibi in Eden roc cafe’

Blue Poles by Jackson Pollack is my favourite. I’ve been lucky enough to see it in person.
