Sometimes I wish I could disappear

Goodbye
A concluding remark or gesture of parting
At least that’s what Merriam Webster tells me.
What is my goodbye?
Nothing but a fond farewell
As I ride off in the sunset?
It won’t be that glamorous
I warn you now.
So how does it go?
See ya later?
No. Because you won’t.
Sayonara muchachos?
A little too over the top
Something a little darker.
Nice knowing You?
Some of you to be frank
It wasn’t that great knowing.
How about nothing?
No goodbye.
No sad drawn out parting.
No final remarks.
Just nothing.
Disappeared.
Never seen again.
Yes. That’s the way I want it.
So Merriam Webster you aren’t always right.
Sometimes goodbye
Just means being gone.
