@thewcifer I'm sorry for your loss. I hate funerals myself, but went to my aunt's mother's funeral a couple months ago. I didn't know her mom that well, I saw her at my aunt's place sure, but I didn't really talk with her. (By the way it's not my grandma, this particular aunt is married to one of my dad's brothers).
I went for my aunt though because she's always been there for me, she came almost every day last year when I was in the hospital for three weeks and on an oxygen tube. I felt like I owed it to her to show up. Not just for her either because it's kind of an odd set up but my aunt's younger brother is married to my cousin and they have a teenage daughter I thought I'd go for support for her as well...I just found a quiet corner in the back of the room and sat and listened to the speeches. Sometimes just being there is comforting to others.
I went to my reunion over the weened it was fun, but I didn't like being at the park all day for one. Two my leg hurt all day because at the hotel I almost slipped on a wet floor by the vending machines that I had to walk past to go to breakfast. No sign was up when I went down. Luckily I was able to catch my balance on one leg, but putting all the weight on that one kind of cockied turned leg made it sore. Plus I spend like 8 hours cramped up in the car on the way up there so it was already stiff to start with.
I did like going to my aunt's house afterwords, she had more comfy chairs I could sit in the living room and not 50 year old park tables. I also didn't like that the park only had one bathroom and it was like half a mile down from our pavilion. to make it worse the two stalls in the bathroom didn't have doors and the front door didn't lock, so anyone could walk in on you. EESH. I hate outdoors.
Tomorrow I go in to the dentist and get fitted for my partials. Oh joy. (not) Saturday I have my cousin's wedding I have to go to. So much stuff going on this week. I do nothing all year and then all of a sudden it all piles up in one week!
Kitty traveled so well, it was her first trip. She did hide a little under the beds but I assumed that would happen...she does that here at home. I wasn't expecting her to prefer to sleep in her bag in the car after she got to explore around it for a bit. But she did come out in the hotel room when mom, dad, and I were all there together. She did eat. She did use the portable litter-box we got her. and She did let me give her, her inhaler which is why we had to bring her along this time to begin with. We stopped at my uncle's so he could try and fix something on the car and she let one of my cousin's pet her which was nice...and a bit unusual because she doesn't like strangers touching her....come to think of it, I don't either.
