It is understood there are Sz sufferers who are also religious. That's fine. You shouldn't feel unwelcome here because you attend a church, mosque, etc.
Posting occasionally about how your faith helps sustain your recovery is okay. If your faith is a part of your recovery, by all means share it, but in that context.
Pushing your faith on others (proselytizing) is not okay.
Calling the religious beliefs of others incorrect/wrong because they conflict with your own religion's teachings is NOT okay. Please don't do that.
Occasional Bible quotes are okay just so long as they don't form the bulk of your posting habits.
If it's a major holiday for your religion (Easter, Christmas, Ramadan, Pentecost, Purim, whatever), wishing someone else a Happy __________ and discussing how you plan to celebrate is fine.
A lot of Sz sufferers have delusions and compulsions pertaining to religious and spiritual matters, which is why we try to discourage religious posts. Please be advised that no matter how mundane your religious/spiritual post was, this type of post will attract people who frequently go off the rails when the topic comes up. They tend to get threads locked when they cut loose. Don't take it personally if one of these people derails your thread. They are ill and have trouble controlling these compulsions.
Because some members really want to avoid religious topics for reasons of personal health, we tend to shunt overtly religious discussions into Unusual Beliefs. While many mainstream religions hardly qualify as unusual beliefs, we don't have anywhere else to put these topics, so this is the best solution for now. Please don't be insulted if your thread is moved to Unusual Beliefs, we're just working with the tools we have right now. (Why don't we start a religion category? That would end up encouraging religious posts and the resulting squabbles. Can't go there.)
Occasionally the number of religious posts reaches a crescendo that upsets many of the regular members. When this happens you'll see religious discussion being discouraged for a bit. This usually means a lot of locked topics in Unusual Beliefs.
This site is intended to primarily support discussion around recovering from Sz or support for those who are (and also friends and caregivers of those with Sz). It is not a place to argue theology. If you want to debate religious views, please do it ELSEWHERE. It causes too many fights here.
Religious squabbling in threads causes them to get locked down. In the words of our honoured former moderator Dan (Dugal) Webster, "please be civil and supportive."
If you have been asked to give religious/spiritual posting a break for a bit, please do so. We don't like having to hand out posting suspensions.

personally i am tired of people having a go at my sith religion................lol .take care
Would having a new category for religious posts be worth looking at?That way you would have the option to just ignore anything about religion!
Or do you feel that these simple rules using the existing system would be better?
You'll have to ask @SzAdmin that. He's the one paying the bills for this site.
