Where is that in Tokyo? I didn’t see it when I was there and I am deeply regretting it!

It’s near Asakusa,
But it’s built in 2012.
When did u come here?

In 2010. No wonder I didn’t see it! I stayed in Ueno, I think that’s close to Asakusa?

I feel like posting a progress photo back in my novice bodybuilding days, but it may be too risque for posting. It’s just me, but topless both times.

I don’t miss my old physique, really. Even though I was robust, I was mentally quite the quack. I’d rather be real thin & lean instead of being so bubbled.

Yes, pretty close.
I just went to Ueno last week to see an art exhibition.
Did you see the museums or zoo at Ueno?

I visited at New Year’s, so most things were closed. I went to the park and visited the temples and shrines, and I went to see a concert at the Tokyo Dome. I’m a terrible sightseer, I always just wander streets looking around. I remember a lot of riding on the Yamanote Line (I think).

I visited Kyoto at New Year’s, too, one year, and it was the same - wandering streets, visiting temples and shrines, I went to the bamboo forest there.

I see.
I visited Kyoto once, when I was a school girl. I saw lots of temples and shrines.
Where in Japan are you planning to visit at next New Year’s?
Tohoku?

Haha! I still want to visit Hokkaido, and I want to see Kyoto again. I loved Kyoto.

Japan is such a nice place to spend New Year’s, many of the traditions (at least how I understand them - having your house clean and your bills paid by the end of the year, watching the sun rise New Year’s Day) give me a good, hopeful feeling. The first time I went, my friend had been treated for cancer, and New Year’s Day marked her 5-year remission anniversary, which meant she was considered cured. So we wanted to go to the place where New Year’s Day would come the soonest to celebrate. Since then, it’s been my favorite place to spend that holiday, though it’s too expensive to do it often.
