One advantage of living with deficit schizophrenia is the complete lack of positive symptoms, anxiety or depression.

I thought as long as you have long lasting negative symptoms regardless of whether you have positive or affective symptoms you are considered a deficit sz? Which would mean since I have negative symptoms which remain while everything else is gone even though I have positive sx I am a deficit sz too.

Yes, in the studies I’ve read, some of the patients with deficit sz still experienced positive symptoms. However, it’s not my case and I know of two other deficit schizophrenics who don’t deal with positive symptoms at all either.

Do you deal with cognitive deficits? Sometimes they overlap with negative symptoms. For example executive functioning deficits might make it impossible to initiate activity. And that could be mistaken for avolition or amotivation.

I have spikes in anxiety. Usually there has to be something that sets me off.

Right now, I’m at about a 3, but I’m on an AD for that. I used to be at about an 8 or 9.

It’s hard to tell whether they are cognitive or negative. But I have good sustained attention and focus. My memory is pretty much the same as before the illness. I do find it hard to initiate activities, but I blame my avolition for that

I voted 4. I have bad anxiety some nights, 8-9, with sweating, heart racing and pounding, dizziness and nausea, but most of the time I’m on 3-4. It’s manageble without benso.

My anxiety reveals itself by a habit of incessantly pressing my lips, which began after my father started incesting me at the age of 9 years old. I take 0.5 mg of Klonipin for it twice a day as needed for anxiety and this really works well.

It depends on the situation. I have a long list of phobias but if there are none threatening me I am ok. Also my meds help a lot. At the moment I am about 3 or 4. Socialising I am a 7. And talking on phone or an occasional thunderstorm I am a 9 or 10.

I voted 8. I am quite terrified at the moment. Mainly of God, the devil, never being able to love again and thus being a bad person and going to hell. It fluctuates a bit, by night it gets worse, by day i am well enough to socialize and go out. I dont want to use an AP to come through it, unless i really cant sleep or feel like I am really out of control, so it is sort of my own choice. I hope it passes some day. A week ago it was only something like 1 or 2, so I hope to get back to that.

I voted 5, as an average for me. How much anxiety I have varies with how much depression I have going on. I recently had become depressed, and my anxiety spiked to where I couldn’t handle being at work. Now I’m back to normal, not depressed, no major anxiety to speak of.

Pretty bad. I grounded him for a week for disrespecting me and took away all his television privileges.

it depends on what it is I’m doing. Sitting at home with no plans I’m fine. Tell me I have to go out and is starts to rise. It rises even more depending on what it is I’m doing when I’m out, and if I’m with anyone or not…

About the only symptom left atm with me. Comes and goes so I hit a 5.

My anxiety usually isn’t too bad, but today I think it was about 7. I went to a church today that I haven’t been to in quite sometime. A few familiar faces helped a little. I felt better toward the end of service.
