I have been seeing the same pain managemeet doctor for over 5 years, so I have a good doctor patient relationship with him. We do not always see eye to eye, sometimes I am suffering so badly, and he is not willing to raise my meds, and this frustrates me. I understand why he is trying not to put me on too much, but when I am suffering, I do not want to be placated. Not only does he not want to over medicate me, he does not want to effect my mental illness.
This month (I see him monthly) he added klonopin, at a low dose, and explined that it is not only good for anxiety, but it can be used to block pain. Well it has not been delivered yet, but I hope it helps.
