Negative Symptoms Treatment

what do I do about the negative symptoms? I’m currently on Lexapro & Trilafon but it seems I can’t get motivation to participate in life no matter what. I don’t enjoy anything. I’m just “bored.” it’s hard to focus. I am honestly at my wits end with this & I’ve only been struggling with it for a year.

no I haven’t tried any of those. inform me please.

if u are frm us try sarcosine… and if u are frm india or asia try different ayurved like brami sankapuspi jatamansi etc and see…

You should get with your Dr to talk about medicine adjustment.

Medications do not yet exist to alleviate the symptoms of negaschiz.

Anti-Ds, like the Lexapro escitalopram you’re taking, may or may not help… and they may actually attentuate the effects of the anti-Ps – like Tilafon perfenazine – in some people.)

BUT… if the pt responds well to the anti-P meds for the hallucinations and mania, he or she may be a very good candidate for (the typically cognitive-behavioral) psychotherapies that can deal with the inaccurate thinking that’s often back of at least some percentage the negative symptoms.

One may not get a “total liftoff,” but most pts get some improvement… and they get an entertaining solution for their boredom.

join the club I have been waiting for something for negative symptoms for many years, apart from natural things like sarcosine there is a drug in development called encenicline, its for cognitive symptoms but it has also been passing tests for negatives.

Not much seems to help other than a scheduled daily routine. It just keeps you moving

if u can access Ayurveda from ur country why don’t u give it a try. because it is free of side effects…

The only thing I’m aware of that has some data behind it in terms of helping in these areas is CBT for psychosis (therapy) and these supplements. New drugs are coming down the pipe but not here yet, that target these symptoms:

Sarcosine
