My chemical romance

“Thank You For The Venom”

Sister, I’m not much a poet, but a criminal
And you never had a chance
Love it, or leave it, you can’t understand
A pretty face, but you do so carry on,
and on,
and on

I wouldn’t front the scene if you paid me
I’m just the way that the doctor made me, on,
and on,
and on,
and on
Love is the red the rose on your coffin door
What’s life like, bleeding on the floor,
the floor,
the floor

You’ll never make me leave
I wear this on my sleeve
Give me a reason to believe

[Chorus]
So give me all your poison
And give me all your pills
And give me all your hopeless hearts
And make me ill
You’re running after something
That you’ll never kill
If this is what you want
Then fire at will

Preach all you want but who’s gonna save me?
I keep a gun on the book you gave me, hallelujah, lock and load
Black is the kiss, the touch of the serpent son
It ain’t the mark or the scar that makes you run,
and run,
and run,
and run.

You’re running after something you’ll never kill

What does this have to do with anything? We’re just posting random song lyrics now?

Yeah you didn’t get the update?

DAY-O
DAYYY-O
Daylight come and me wanna go home.
Come Mr talley-man, tally me bananas.
Six foot, seven foot, eight foot bunch!

That’s an awesome song. It stars in a movie, don’t remember which one… where they’re at a dinner table singing.

The critic Roger Ebert panned Beetlejuice, but I loved that movie. I don’t know if I would like it now.

When I was a kid it was fine. Don’t know now.

Just 'cause it seems to fit here (for some reason; lemme think…)

Desolation Row
(by Bob Dylan)

They’re selling postcards of the hanging
Well they’re painting the passports brown
And the beauty parlor’s filled with sailors
The circus is in town

Oh now look, here comes the blind commissioner
Well they got him in a trance
One hand is tied to the tight-rope walker
The other’s in his pants

And the riot squad they’re restless
They need somewhere to go
As Lady and I look out tonight
From Desolation Row

Cinderella, she seem so easy
“Well it takes one to know one,” she smiles
And she puts her hands in her back pockets
Oh Bette Davis style

And now here comes Romeo, moaning
“You Belong to Me I Believe”
And someone says, “You’re in the wrong place, my friend
You better leave”

And then the only sound that’s left
After the ambulances go
Is Cinderella sweepin’ up
On Desolation Row

Now at midnight all the agents
And superhuman crew
Go out and round up everyone
That knows more than they do
(Knows more than they do)

They’re gonna bring 'em to the factory
Where the heart-attack machine
Is strapped across their shoulders
And then the kerosene

Is brought down from the castles
By insurance men who go
Check to see that no one is escaping
To Desolation Row

'Cause right now I can’t read too good
Don’t send me no letters no
Not unless you’re gonna mail them
From Desolation Row

Do me a favor post this one

I used to think this song was about drugs.

It became obvious that it wasn’t later on.

Its actually functioning in both ways.

I think most people did.

I agree. Dylan was good at double-entendres. (And waking people up who were ready to be awakened.)
