With that much I agree whole-heartedly. I can’t say one way or the other about MK Ultra, Monarch, Cinderella or Paperclip, but do see all manner of instruction, modeling and conditioning of common cultural beliefs via authority and social proof laid on by the popular media, the military, the political parties, the church, public and private education, etc.
If one has heard pretty much one point of view all his life from those he trusts – and has never learned how to think critically and question what he has been taught in the light of actual evidence – it seems likely that he will “do as he has been told,” I’d have to expect.
I don’t see the “worst” or “most evil” of this pattern in all sz pts or all mental health pts, but I do see it so often – especially in pts with obsessive-compulsive symptoms – I have to think it must be a factor in a substantial number of psychiatric illnesses.
