I can’t stop eating!

All I do is crash on my couch or stuff my face with food.
I really can’t stop eating, even when I’m full!

All I do is lounge about the house and eat.
I know it’s the Depakote that gives me this enormous appetite.

Anyone else have appetite issues?

I am going to bring it up with my psychiatrist the next time I see her.

I’d be like that if I didn’t take a B-complex vitamin everyday. The B-complex seems to stop increased appetite for me on abilify.

Currently I’m not losing or gaining weight even though I’m trying to lose weight.

Drink water or water filled foods when hungry. Keep mouth full, fewer calories.

The problem is that I do drink plenty of water AND plenty of food to go along with it.

It’s definitely the Depakote that’s giving me this insatiable appetite- it’s known for doing this.

I know it’s also doing me a lot of good but I really have to switch mood stabilizers.

Lol yeah I can relate to that.
Been there.

It helped me to be very careful when shopping groceries.

Only buy and have healthy things at home.

Weightwatvhers diet bars help my sweet tooth.

I am not on a weight watchers program but buy their bars at super market.

I had that problem when I was on risperdal. The problem went away with a med change. I hoping this will happen to you.

Foods a problem just like crack-cocaine. Some ppl struggle with it and food is a burden, some ppl manage to easily stay thin. Cuz of sz we all get thrown in the diet is an issue boat, and will struggle.

Abilify was giving me constant hunger. Since quitting 3 months ago I’ve lost about 15 pounds and I eat significantly less. I know quitting the AP is not an option for most people, just saying what worked for me.

Might be a side effect to discuss with your doctor. I changed my diet. When I snack it’s usually healthy and low calorie now and vitamins too.

Yeah it’s a side effect of Depakote

I have lost about 10 pounds in a month by walking for 30 minutes to an hour a day and trying not to over eat as much as i can. Yes the pills make me extra hungry and its hard to fight but i try eating a bunch of small meals and only eating until i feel not hungry anymore and not just eating until i feel like i am stuffed and cant eat anymore.

I am always hungry. I try to keep my eating to healthy snacks and am not gaining weight, but am not loosing it either. And I work out a lot at the gym. I think if I didn’t, I’d gain a lot of weight.

I used to have the same problem as well while I was taking Abilify and Zeldox. I gained through this time for last 5 years 20 kg. And then I got injection, since then I lost 10 kg. I hope you ask to your doctor about it. Sometimes they get you something extra against to side effects. Nowadays there are even this kinds of medicine specialists. You can also look for it. Cheers
