EPA - Fish Oil - Vascepa

I am currently taking Lovaza fish oil capsules to lower my high triglycerides - because it is a purified form of fish oil it contains both EPA and DHA - the problem is with DHA fatty acids - they can raise LDL levels (bad cholesterol)
DHA is not as beneficial as EPA for mental health conditions, like depression. EPA also has some antipsychotic effects to it, benefiting illnesses like schizophrenia.
My new family doctor recommended a new purified prescription fish oil capsule, it contains only EPA - No DHA.
it is called VASCEPA - It lowers triglycerides without raising LDL levels - bad cholesterol.
The EPA content found in Vascepa could benefit my bipolar depression and SZA traits -

Among omega-3 fatty acids, it is thought that EPA in particular may possess some beneficial potential in mental conditions, such as schizophrenia.[7][8]

Studies have suggested that EPA may be efficacious in treating depression. A 2009 meta analysis found that people taking omega-3 supplements with a higher EPA:DHA ratio experienced fewer depressive symptoms.[9]

EPA FISH OIL IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR PSYCHIATRIC MEDICATIONS

Yes - high EPA omega 3 fish oils might be helpful for the brains it seems. The evidence in the use of schizophrenia is very mixed though - not a big effect whatever the case. I use this product - which seems pretty cost-effective:
