Does Luvox make anxiety worse?

Ive been taking Luvox. It increases my clozaril levels. Now my anxiety meds (propranolol & Klonipin) aren’t working well.

Anybody else have these issues?

Hi. I just started taking Luvox in 100 mg/day dosage. I also take Clozaril. Luvox increases clozapine levels five times. So, if you take 100 mg clozapine/day it’s like taking 500 mg clozapine/day. I also noticed some anxiety increase but it will see if I can handle it. If not, i will return to sertraline.

I know luvox increases clozapine blood levels due to inhibiting CYP450 enzymes - 3A4, 1A2, 2C9/2C19 [1]

But where did you read that it increases it 5 times ? Can you cite your sources ?

I know that from personal experience.

Luvox 50 mg/day increases clozapine levels 2,5 times.
Luvox 100 mg/day increases clozapine levels 5 times
Luvox 200 mg/day increases clozapine levels 10 times

Luvox also increases caffeine levels, and as you know, caffeine also increases clozapine levels. So if you take few cups of coffee a day the above values are correct.

I had no caffeine yesterday. Took my fifty mgs Luvox. Slept one hour last night.

Ran out of melatonin. It helps. Bought some more today.

The med’s affect different people differently. I didn’t have an anxiety problem when I took Luvox, at least not more than I already had. When they first increased my dose of buproprion I had problems with increased anxiety. I thought I was becoming psychotic, but then I got used to the drug.

How much would prozac increase clozapine levels ?

Im scared to start prozac cuz it might worsen clozapine induces seizures as im already taking valproate for clozapine induced seizures. I asked my pdoc for lexapro as it does not have any drug interactions and wont increase clozapine levels.
