My therapist is trying to get me into practicing mindfulness. Has anyone had any success with this? I just bought a book called mindfulness for beginners by Jon Zinn. Anyone have any tips or suggestions?

Ive heard it can be very helpful. Good luck. I also think mindfullness may help me live in the now moment, rather than opperating from old wounds etc.
Its good for positive symptoms…try it to beleive it…take care

Yes, we were taught Mindfulness in our group therapy classes for shizophrenics and schizoaffectives. I personally find it very helpful, and still practice it. It fits in nicely with A.C.T. (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy).
