I write a lot of poetry and use it to compose songs on my yamaha keyboard. Have quite a few songs composed now. Playing and singing them produces an autotelic state known as ‘flow’. I lose track of time and space while I play, sometimes for 3 or 4 hours straight. It’s really pleasurable, exhausting, and I believe I get temporarily sane in the process. (chuckle chuckle). Also, creating gifts for my kids and grandkids out of misc. thrift shop and hobby supplies items is a lot of fun. They are unique and semi-abstract projects created out of my mind, heart, and soul. Best of all, the kids just love them and reinforces the love we share.
