Your best bet would be to ask a Neurologist.

Never had a seizure on gabapentin or klonopin.

ILamictal has worked very well for me and topiramate.

I think it depends on the type of seizures you have. When I was first diagnosed mine were so hard to control I was also put on Ativan (just come off by switching to diazepam) and carbamazepine (which I am now going to come off next cause I’m on a low dose I don’t think I need it and I have good control now)

Mine are partial seizures btw. Affecting part of the brain. Some affect the whole. Like grand-mal seizures. So I think they take that into consideration

Stress and sleep also plays an important role. Without enough sleep medication is not as effective no matter what you take believe me. And same with stress.

Hope his helps.

My husband takes topiramate and lamotrigine. His epilepsy is really severe temporal lobe type, he gets about 10-12 seizures a month, but I do notice that the topiramate helps him a lot from getting worse seizures. It also doesn’t cause him to pick up weight, not like valproate did.

Cbd is meant to be good for seizures. It may work or it may not.
